Columbus, OH - For Columbus-based home builder Virginia Homes, "Big Differences. Better Homes." isn't just their tagline - it's their philosophy. In that tradition, they're introducing something totally different in 2008 - their innovative 7-level Windsor floorplan.
The 7-level floorplan is an enhancement to the 5-level split plan. Specifically, the 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath Windsor plan features a second floor with four different levels, including a loft, master suite and bonus room.
According to Virginia Homes president Charles Ruma, "40 to 50% of new home construction in this market is the multi-level plan concept. This takes it to another level - literally and figuratively."
"At Virginia Homes, we are always looking for ways to make our homes better. We know that home building has become a commodity, so we are always trying to improve the value of that investment through better design and more innovative materials."
Appropriately enough for a floorplan that is cutting edge, the Windsor is being framed from one of the most groundbreaking new products in the industry - BLUWOOD. BLUWOOD is a family of wood frame building components that have been treated to be both mold-resistant and impervious to rot and insects. The two-part coatings applied to the lumber give the framing an unmistakable blue color, thus assuring builders and homeowners that they are getting the full benefits of BLUWOOD.
"Our new Windsor model, framed in BLUWOOD, will certainly be noticeable from the road, so we are anticipating lots of questions about 'the big blue house,'"commented Charles Ruma.
"We are making an effort to redesign our homes and the products we use. BLUWOOD is an example of how we are building a better, and in this case, healthier home. Alleviating the concern for mold is a big deal and will make a difference to the homeowner."
Ruma says that the framing of the 7-level Windsor home will be completed in early June 2008. Virginia Homes and BLUWOOD are planning three open houses during the month of June. Please check the BLUWOOD display during the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes or visit www.virginia-homes.com for more information. The Windsor home will be showcased as one of the first homes in the region to use BLUWOOD products.
