Epcon Communities Announces the Opening of Its National Model Park with Seven New Courtyard Homes and New Detached Models

Epcon Communities, a leading homebuilding developer and franchise operator based in Dublin, Ohio today announced the launch of its brand new collection of homes and national model park. With over a year and a half spent gathering data, planning, designing and testing its new homes, the company is excited to publicly reveal for the first time its Classic Courtyard Collection.

The official announcement and public unveiling of the homes and national model park will take place in a four-day celebration event at The Woods at Sugar Run in New Albany, Ohio with tours, question and answer sessions, and photo opportunities.

The four-day event will be kicked-off with a media preview day on Thursday, September 11 at 11 a.m., during which media members will be invited to join a private, invitation-only unveiling. Media members will also have the chance to speak with members of the Epcon Leadership Team for details on the new product and will be invited to tour the new homes. On September 12, Epcon Communities will host a realtor sneak preview event to educate realtors on the intricacies of the new homes and give them a chance to ask questions about the new designs. Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 will feature a public unveiling of the homes, along with a celebration for all who would like to attend the event.

Used as a training and testing base for the new product, the national model park is the unique way that Epcon Communities has begun teaching its building partners about the new product. Similar to a test kitchen for food franchises, the national model park is a living working community modeling the new home designs. The community allows builder partners and potential builder partners to really see first-hand what makes the new product so unique.

The Woods at Sugar Run, the first community nationwide to feature Epcon Communities' new floor plans, offers ample amenities and outdoor living space, while also improving lifestyle appeal for residents. With an abundance of new features, all seven new models offer residents private, outdoor courtyard areas, catering to the idea that outdoor living should be as central to design and as carefully planned as interior home design. The courtyard homes include exciting options for outdoor entertaining and a private outdoor living space that can be utilized 365 days a year. Homeowners also have courtyard dcor options such as a fire pit, water features, paver patio and trellis, creating a unique entertaining and gathering space that is unprecedented in both its segment of homes and in its price range.

The new homes feature seven new single-story floor plans with four attached and, for the first time in Epcon Communities' history, three detached models. The distinctive homes also include an upgraded formal dining room, abundant closet and pantry space, an updated master bedroom and bathroom with a contemporary doorless shower, an oversized garage and a covered front porch and entryway. The kitchen features several updates as well, with elegant island areas, open living space views and abundant cabinetry and finish options. Other optional add-ons include a four-season room, walkout basements on detached models and a sitting room.

The Classic Courtyard Collection includes single-story attached homes starting at 1,137 square-feet and up to 1,806 square-feet. The single-story detached models start at 1,516 square-feet, topping out at nearly 2,000 square-feet. Both detached and attached homes are priced between $150,000 and $300,000.

The homes were designed in response to a groundbreaking study conducted by ProMatura and Margaret Wylde, Ph.D., noted researcher on the Boomer housing industry, revealing Boomers affinity for outdoor living and recreation, as well as a need for privacy and desire to have an all-in-one home with the square footage they want and the price they need. The age-classified study, completed in 2006, researched and surveyed 6,000 Boomers and seniors. In addition, the research revealed that homeowners refused to sacrifice style or amenities for a "right-sized" home. The Woods at Sugar Run is located in New Albany, Ohio just off of New Albany Road West. For more information on the community please call 614.202.1813.
